Donkey Kong Country Returns. What to Expect.

He’s finally returning to your home consoles! That funky monkey Donkey Kong is swinging back into action on the Wii! That’s right, Donkey Kong Country RETURNS!

Everyone’s favourite, Bongo Drum playing, red tie wearing Gorilla, Donkey Kong, returns in a platformer frenzy that is Donkey Kong Country Returns this December. The 3rd to be precise. It’s Donkey Kong’s first home console game since the GameCube’s Jungle Beat back in 2005.

So what’s up in DK’s Jungle paradise now? Well a group of Tiki’s known as the Tiki Tak Tribe have hypnotised the animals of DK island to steal something very close to our crazy ape’s heart. His banana’s! So him and his little friend Diddy Kong have gone hunting to get them back.

So how about that gameplay? Well DK Returns is a platformer and you will use a lot of mechanics that existed in DK Country. You will be swinging along to the groove of both Donkey and Diddy Kong too, twice the monkey’s must obviously mean twice the party right? Yes that is right, as there is co-operative multiplayer in DK Country Returns. One player will control DK whilst the other will control Diddy. Also, building on Nintendo’s success with New Super Mario Bros. Wii, if one character dies the other can let them out of a floating barrel to re-enter the action. Also remember that super-guide feature from New Super Mario Bros. Wii and Super Mario Galaxy 2? That’s in DK too.

Donkey Kong Country Returns is due for release on Nintendo Wii systems on 3rd December in the EU.
