Xbox LIVE DLC Stocking Fillers

Yeah, before we start, I nicked part of the title from my fellow writer, @MintagedVortex. Joe, please forgive me. Anyway, all the stealing aside, this is my Christmas article. As the title suggests, in this article, I’ll be telling you which DLCs to get with all the Microsoft Points you’ll undoubtedly get for Christmas. Hope you all find this useful!

Red Dead Redemption: Undead Nightmare Collection

Red Dead Redemption is simply an amazing game, which rightly deserved and won Spike’s Game of The Year, along with many other magazines’ and websites’ various awards. As the months passed, this amazing game got a lot of multiplayer add-on content, which was all well and good, but a lot of gamers, myself included, wanted a big single-player add-on to drool over. And that’s exactly what we got, in the form of Undead Nightmare. Aside from characters and settings, this is pretty much a different game. And, it’s awesome. You kill a LOT of zombies, burn coffins, ride horses of the apocalypse, and a load of the main characters in the regular game get turned into the undead pretty quickly. There’s a brief summary for you. The Undead Nightmare Collection is a bundle of all the multiplayer DLCs as well as Undead Nightmare, whereas Undead Nightmare is just, well… Undead Nightmare on its own. Getting the bundle saves you a reported 800 Microsoft Points, as opposed to if you were to buy all the DLCs separately. If you prefer to have discs instead of downloads, you can get a hard copy of the Undead Nightmare Collection for around £25, on both the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3. You can pick up the Undead Nightmare Collection for 1600 MSP or, Undead Nightmare on its own for 800 MSP from the Xbox LIVE Marketplace.

Battlefield Bad Company 2: Vietnam Expansion Pack

Bad Company 2 is another awesome game. And, it’s got the grand-daddy of all expansion packs. To call Vietnam an ordinary DLC is quite frankly an insult to the developers. No, this isn’t an ordinary, crappy DLC. This is an M&S ordinary, crappy DLC. Bad jokes FTW, am I right? But seriously, this isn’t a crappy DLC, this is an awesomely epic DLC. 4 new maps, soon to become 5, a load of Vietnam-era weapons, a few Vietnam-era vehicles, and a lot of 60s Vietnam music. How much more epic can it get? Well, let me tell ya. There are 10 new achievements, new voice-overs for American and Vietnamese forces, and, as I mentioned above, a fifth map, titled Battle for Hastings, which will be unlocked when all the players reach 69,000,000 combined team-play actions. Bad Company 2: Vietnam is available to download now from the Xbox LIVE Marketplace for 1200 MSP.

Halo Reach: Noble Map Pack

Halo Reach is the last Halo game made by the legendary Bungie. Reach was an awesome game, which had some addictive and pretty damn fun multiplayer game modes, and a lot of cool maps based off of the campaign. The Noble Map Pack is the first DLC released for this awesome game, and it contains 3 brand new multiplayer maps, none of which are based off the campaign. First up on our list of maps is Anchor 9. Anchor 9 has an awesome zero-gravity area, where you’d be safer if you had a jet-pack. There are many hidden areas, hidden weapons, and the map is a camper’s hell, or so I’ve been told.  Next up is Tempest. Tempest resembles Forge World, in the way of its scenery. It’s the same leafy, boulder-y area that’s surrounded by forestry, and it will always guarantee some action, thanks to the Warthog and Mongooses lying around the place. Last on the list is Breakpoint. It’s the largest of the three maps on offer in the Noble Map Pack, which makes it ideal for big fire-fights, and Invasion and Big Team Battle games. It has many nooks and crannies, and a few hidey spots to fire from. The Noble Map Pack is available on the Xbox LIVE Marketplace now for 800 MSP.

The Force Unleashed II: Endor DLC Pack.

This’ll be a short one. I’ve said all I need to say about the Endor DLC Pack in my review, so go check that out. The Endor DLC Pack contains a new campaign, with you playing as the clone of the clone (?) of Starkiller. Within the DLC, the clone travels to Endor to rid the galaxy of the Rebel Alliance. There’s a lot of familiar faces, such as Princess Leia, who is now a Jedi, Chewbacca, and Han Solo. Plus, since it is Endor after all, those adorable Ewoks make an appearance. It’s short, but really quite fun. Why is it on this list? It’s 80 Microsoft Points. Yeah. Since it’s really, really, REALLY cheap, there is no excuse for not downloading this. With an awesome mini-campaign, awesome Star Wars music, and those awesome Ewoks, the Endor DLC Pack is available to download now from the Xbox LIVE Marketplace for 80 MSP.

List of Other Awesome DLCs.
