Marvel vs Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds. What to Expect.

Marvel vs Capcom is a side view 2D fighter series by Capcom. Now the third installment is due for release next month I think it’s time to have a look at who will be brawling and what updates have happened since number 2.

As the title suggests the Marvel vs Capcom games see characters from the Marvel and Capcom Universes fighting against each other. But its not all pointless fighting, there is a story for MvC 3. Doctor Doom, from the Fantastic Four comics, has joined forces with Albert Wesker, from the Resident Evil games, to unite their two universes into one so that they can conquer both. However doing this actually awakens something much more dangerous and now it’s up to the characters from both universes to defeat this creature before the Capcom and Marvel Universes are destroyed. The ending for each Characters part of this story will be different, and the story in general will be more robust than it’s predecessors.

In the game you play as two teams of 3 characters which also have some spectacular Team moves too. The controls have changed though, unlike the previous installments 4 attack button scheme, MvC 3 will only use three. Each corresponding to light, medium and heavy attacks. This is designed to make the game more appealing to newcomers for the 2D fighting genre. There is now an “Exchange” button. This is allows the player to do one of three things. It can launch characters into the air, switch characters whilst performing a combo or slam the character to the ground (This is only available to select characters). MvC3 contains a new “simple” mode. This mode allows players to perform combos and special moves with greater ease, at the expense of limiting the character’s moveset. This was presumably added as another effort to aid newcomers to the genre.

Now for characters. Marvel vs Capcom 3 will contain around 40 characters. 32 have been currently announced and 2 extra ones as DLC.
